JANUARY 2012

January 4th
Pre-Diabetes Education Class

This monthly educational program provides an overview of the signs and symptoms of pre-diabetes, understanding the risks of diabetes, and provides education about how lifestyle choices can have a positive impact on overall health and help avoid diabetes. The class is held the first Wednesday of each month at Springfield Hospital Meeting House, from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. This class is free and open to the public. There will be a question and answer session at the end of the presentation. Please call Barbara Bye to register at 802-885-7670 or e-mail bbye@springfieldmed.org.

Childbirth Education Class
This class is designed to prepare women and their partners for the labor and birth process. Parents are encouraged to sign up for this class 2 months in advance of their due date. Bring two pillows and your lunch. Cost for this class is $81.20. VT Medicaid and most private insurances will pay this fee. Classes are taught by a certified childbirth educator in the Springfield Hospital Library from 9 am - 5 pm. To register, call Sandy at 885-7686.

 

November 7th
Refresher Childbirth Class

Participants are encouraged to bring two pillows and a partner. Cost for this class is $37.90. VT Medicaid and most private insurances will pay this fee. Class is taught by a certified childbirth educator, in the Springfield Hospital Library from 6 pm - 8 pm. To register, please call Sandy at 885-7686.

November 12th

Sibling Class

Sibling class is for families expecting a new baby. Education is offered on how to adapt to a new baby in the family. The class includes discussion of infant behaviors, a video, and a ChildBirth Center tour. Have your child bring a stuffed toy or a doll to weigh. Classes are held from 5 - 6 pm in the Hospital Library. To register, call Sandy at 885-7686.
