Deadline for senior girls entries, December 5, 2011.High school senior girls in the communities served by Springfield Medical Care Systems (SMCS) including the high schools of Springfield, Bellows Falls, Green Mountain, Black River, Fall Mountain, Windsor, Compass School, and Vermont Academy are eligible to participate in the Apple Blossom Cotillion directed by Pam Church and Carrie Jewell.
Elementary school children in grades Kindergarten through 4th are invited to participate. These younger performers, always a real crowd pleaser, are introduced in couples, just like the high school participants and escorts, and they perform several singing and dancing numbers.
Applicants who submit a completed application by the due date of December 5 are eligible to participate unless the number of applicants exceeds the capacity of the production. In that case, a random public drawing will be held on December 8 to determine the participants. Children should apply in couples – a girl and her male escort – just like the high school participants.
“The number of children couples selected,” according to Larry Kraft, Director of Springfield Hospital Foundation and emcee of the Cotillion, “depends on the number of high school couples we get.”
Parents who would like their children to participate may obtain download an application from this website (see above), or from the Foundation office, 886-1600, lkraft@springfieldmed.org .
The Annual Apple Blossom Cotillion is a fundraiser for Springfield Hospital and its community health centers. This year's theme is "Love - featuring love songs. Applications will soon be available in the school office and on our website.
