JoAnne C. Bohen - New Director of Springfield Area Adult Day Service
Posted on 1/15/2009

We are pleased to announce JoAnne C. Bohen, B.A., has accepted the position of Director, of Springfield Area Adult Day Service effective January 5, 2009.

JoAnne earned her Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Trinity College of Vermont in Burlington. Her experience includes four years as a primary case manager for Council on Aging, working with the elderly and younger disabled adults on the Choice For Care Program. JoAnne also worked as a case manager for the Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice of VT/NH serving the Springfield and White River areas. Most recently, JoAnne was employed as the Director of Social Services at Springfield Health and Rehabilitation Center in Springfield.

“I’m looking forward to using my knowledge of the community and its resources in my work administering care for the elderly and disabled, and helping to maintain or improve their dignity and  independence,” comments JoAnne.

For many families who have seniors or disabled adults over the age of 18 facing the challenge of losing their independence, Springfield Area Adult Day Service provides a welcome alternative to residential care.

Adult Day Service provides physically- or cognitively-impaired adults with a structured program of social activities and needed health care, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Adult Day Service is a planned program that includes a variety of health, social, and supportive services in a safe, protective environment.

Sponsored by Springfield Hospital, Adult Day Service is a community-based service designed to meet each individual's needs. Our staff is trained to meet special needs of all our participants, including those with Alzheimer's, ambulatory restrictions, confusion, dementia, frailty, incontinence, Parkinson's, and strokes and heart attack.

If you would like to learn more about the Adult Day Services, please visit our website at www.springfieldhospital.org. If you would like to contact JoAnne to discuss availability of services, please call Springfield Area Adult Day Service at 802-885-9881 or email: jbohen@springfieldhospital.org.
