2009 Springfield Hospital Golf Challenge
Posted on 7/31/2009
The 9th annual golf tournament to benefit Springfield Hospital will be held on Thursday, September 24 at beautiful Okemo Valley Golf Club in Ludlow.
Besides the excellent amenities of this exclusive golf resort, golfers receive special gifts – this year, a handsome attaché case and Pro V1 golf ball in holder – in addition to a box lunch at registration, complimentary refreshments on the course, and a post-event awards reception.
There are hole-in-one prizes on all par 3 holes, including $25,000 cash and a new vehicle. A pre-tournament putting contest is another chance to win a cash prize. Individual prizes are given for longest putt and straightest drive and team awards are given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place gross and net scores. Raffles and auctions make sure that everyone goes home a winner.
A four-player scramble, the Springfield Hospital Challenge has a shotgun start at 12:30 pm. Players can enter as a team or as individuals. The entry fee for this fundraiser is $150 per person.
The proceeds from this year’s tournament will help support Springfield Hospital’s Oncology Clinic. Tournament sponsors include Springfield Printing Corporation, Black River Produce, and TD Bank.
“We are proud that we have become one of the premier benefit events in the region,” says Larry Kraft, Director, Springfield Hospital Foundation. “It’s a great golf course to play and a great time to play golf – amidst the glorious fall foliage.”
