New Visiting Hours At ChildBirth Center Effective April 1st
Posted on 3/26/2010
SPRINGFIELD, VT — The ChildBirth Center at Springfield Hospital is announcing plans to resume its normal visiting hours effective April 1st. Immediate family members are welcome to visit anytime, remembering to consider and accommodate the patients’ needs for rest. Visiting hours for friends and relatives will be 2 pm – 4 pm and 7 pm to 8 pm daily. To help prevent infection and maintain a safe environment for newborns, with the exception of siblings, children under the age of 12 are asked not to visit The ChildBirth Center, and to plan their visit to the new family after they have arrived home.
To help keep the ChildBirth Center a safe and nurturing environment for infants and mothers during their hospital stay, Springfield Hospital will continue its previous safety policy. The ChildBirth entry will be locked at all times for security, and visitors will be asked to use a security button located next to the door.
The ChildBirth Center welcomes hundreds of newborns each year. Services are patient-centered, and offer a range of birthing choices, education, and support designed to help make childbirth a special experience for families.
