Golf Tournament Scores Big For Springfield Medical Care Systems

Springield, VT — Springfield, VT — The 10th annual Springfield Hospital Challenge took place on Thursday, September 23rd at Okemo Valley Golf Club in Ludlow. 115 golfers competed for team and individual awards, raffle prizes, and auction items.
More than 50 sponsoring organizations underwrote the tournament, which included a box lunch, complimentary refreshments on the course, and gifts of a first aid kit and a special 10th anniversary marble desk clock. Tournament sponsors were Black River Produce, Comtu Falls Corp, IPG Employee Benefits & CBA Blue Administrators, Richard Marasa, MD, NBC Solid Surfaces, Okemo Mountain Resort, Peoples United Bank, Springfield Health & Rehab Center, Springfield Printing, USI Insurance Services/Liberty Mutual.
Club professional, Michael Santa Maria, and the excellent Okemo staff took very good care of the golfers and made the event an overall success. According to event organizer, Larry Kraft, more than $16,000 was raised to support the new Springfield Community Health Center which will be located in the former Fellows Gear Shaper building.
