Apple Blossom Cotillion Children
Posted on 10/28/2011
Elementary school children in grades Kindergarten through 4th are invited to participate in the 56h annual Apple Blossom Cotillion. These younger performers, always a real crowd pleaser, are introduced in couples, just like the high school participants and escorts, and they perform several singing and dancing numbers.
This year’s Cotillion is on Friday and Saturday, May 4& 5, and is directed for the 9th consecutive year by Carrie Jewell and Pam Church. Applicants who submit a completed application by the due date of December 5 are eligible to participate unless the number of applicants exceeds the capacity of the production. In that case, a random public drawing will be held on December 8 to determine the participants. Children should apply in couples – a girl and her male escort – just like the high school participants.
“The number of children couples selected,” according to Larry Kraft, Director of Springfield Hospital Foundation and emcee of the Cotillion, “depends on the number of high school couples we get.”
Parents who would like their children to participate may obtain an application form at the hospital’s website, www.springfieldmed.org , or from the Foundation office, 886-1600, lkraft@springfieldmed.org .
