Chester Family Medicine Announces New Hours, New Services, Free Health Screenings, and Open House
Posted on 1/17/2012

CHESTER, VT - Springfield Medical Care Systems is pleased to announce newly expanded hours and walk-in service availability at its Chester, VT location.

Effective immediately, the office hours for Chester Family Medicine will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:30 pm. In addition, for any unexpected cold, flu, or other non-emergent healthcare needs, walk-in services are also being offered during the same times. Though not required, calling in advance is recommended for patient convenience.

"We are pleased to expand our hours and offer walk-in service as an added convenience to our patients," comments Sarah Kemble, MD, MPH, of Chester Family Medicine. "We are doing everything we can to help our patients meet their healthcare needs and manage their healthcare costs. Walk-in care offers a convenient, close to home service that is a more cost-effective choice for urgent healthcare needs that don't require an emergency room level care," she adds.

Chester Family Medicine will be hosting a free health screening day and open house on Tuesday, January 24th. Free blood sugar and blood pressure screenings will be offered from 10 am to 3 pm. The open house will take place that evening from 4 - 6 pm, and the public is invited to come by to take advantage of the free health screenings, meet the staff, tour the facility, and enjoy some light refreshments.

Chester Family Medicine is a service of Springfield Medical Care Systems, a not-for-profit, community-based health care system that includes a nine-site health center network and Springfield Hospital. SMCS provides an integrated system of care that is patient-centered and emphasizes quality, access, and affordability for all, with financial assistance available to those who qualify. Services include primary and preventive care, pediatrics, diagnostic lab and radiology services, health screenings, mental health services, dental care, access to discounted pharmaceuticals, and a full range of community hospital services.
